I am very excited to share that my illustration for Sincerely Jules made it into June's issue of InStyle Magazine! I love Julie Sarinana so the fact that I was even able to create a few paintings for her seems surreal!
The shirt is called "Donut Lover" and it is currently sold out on Shop Bop and Sincerely Jules but you can now catch it on InStyle's online list for 17 Statement-Making Graphic Tees to Dress Up or Down!
Like every other year, Mardi Gras snuck up on me before I had the chance to make any plans to celebrate the holiday. Because of this I didn't have a chance to pick up decorations so instead I threw together a touch of New Orleans with the crafts I had laying around.
With a safety pin, I poked a hole through purple, yellow and green glitter pom poms and strung them together on green cooking twine. I then placed a painting I created for Chic-tionary in a gold frame that had been hiding in my closet. The apartment now feels a little more festive without spending a dime and that is something I can celebrate!

Mini award envelopes and cards for guests to write their predictions.
For the centerpiece used a framed painting of one of my favorite red carpet looks, (2006, Michelle Williams in Vera Wang).
Check out how Lauren from Murphy's Law styled the donut shirt I created for Julie Sarinana.
I love how she took the already colorful shirt to another level with pom pom heels from Asos, a Kate Spade clutch and a neon skirt from J.Crew.
Cbus Chic, a local online lifestyle publication for women came by yesterday to shoot photos for a feature in their March issue. Jenn Johnston, the photographer for the company came over and shot photos of me, my work room and since she is also a cat lover she even took a few photos of me with Dexter. I can't wait to see how they turn out!

The interview will be discussing the books, All's Fair in Love & Wardrobe and Chic-tionary as well as what I have been up to and more about me. The article will be up on Cbus Chic's website March 3 2014. Everyone from the publication has been extremely sweet and I am so glad to be featured in a magazine that shows support to entrepreneurial women in Columbus Ohio.
Every year Valentines Day gives me the excuse to play with feminine colors and patterns without holding back. It is also the perfect time to stock up on any and everything heart shaped like the black velveteen smoking slippers shown above to use throughout the year. I can now say I have enough glittery hearts to last till next year, it's going to be a good year!
